On 23rd September 2025, we at First Driving Centre (FDC) had the honour of hosting the UITP MENA Taxi & Shared Mobility Workshop at our Al Ruwayyah 3 facility in Dubai. The event brought together government officials, transport experts, and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore the future of urban mobility in our region.
The day began with opening remarks from our CEO, Dr Suzanne Accetta, alongside Dure Shewar – Manager at UITP MENA Regional office, who both highlighted the importance of collaboration in shaping sustainable and customer-focused mobility solutions.
Throughout the workshop, delegates took part in three insightful sessions on the evolving role of taxis in public transport, driver management for customer satisfaction, and the growth of shared mobility models in the MENA region. A lively panel discussion on autonomous driving and taxi innovation added valuable perspectives from both local and international experts.
We were delighted to welcome participants for networking opportunities, coffee breaks, and a tour of our training facilities, giving them a closer look at our ongoing efforts to raise the standards of driver training and road safety in Dubai. The day concluded with a closing lunch, where connections and ideas continued to grow.
Hosting this event was a proud moment for FDC. It reflects our dedication not only to being the leading driving school in Dubai, but also to contributing to conversations that will shape the future of transport across the Middle East
